About

Meet Jacqueline Warren

I am fascinated by how people meet fundamental needs such as food, health, and community in an increasingly complex world.

My training began in genetics, where I became interested in improving food security through biotechnology. As I studied crop production, plant disease, and environmental change, I began to understand that many of our most pressing challenges require solutions beyond scientific innovation alone.

Questions about agricultural resilience led me to broader interests in food systems, sustainability, public health, and equity. My work has taken me through academia, biotechnology, agriculture, government partnerships, public health initiatives, startups, and international programs, providing perspective on how different sectors approach similar challenges.

Today, I work at the intersection of research and storytelling. I enjoy exploring evidence, speaking with people doing meaningful work, and translating complex issues into stories that help others understand why the work matters. My goal is not simply to understand problems, but to help organizations communicate their impact and connect their mission to the people they serve.

Whether I am examining food systems, public health challenges, community programs, or emerging technologies, I am ultimately interested in the same question:

How can we better understand the systems that shape people’s lives, and communicate those insights in ways that support meaningful change?

My Approach to this Work

Good research helps us understand a problem. Good storytelling helps us understand why it matters.

Too often, important work remains invisible because the connection between the challenge and the impact is never fully explained. I use research and storytelling together to help organizations uncover that larger narrative.

Beliefs that Guide My Work

  • People should be able to understand the information that affects their lives
  • The communities closest to a challenge often have the most important insights about its solutions
  • Research is most useful when it can be translated into action
  • Meaningful work deserves to be understood and communicated clearly
  • Curiosity is one of the best tools we have for understanding the world and one another

Questions That Shape My Work

  • How do people meet fundamental needs such as food, health, and community?
  • How do systems shape people’s opportunities and outcomes?
  • What can we learn from the communities closest to a challenge?
  • How can research become more accessible and useful?
  • How can organizations better communicate their impact?

Beyond Work

Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, traveling, and writing. Many of my interests revolve around the same themes that appear in my professional work: community, culture, health, and the ways people solve everyday challenges.

I am endlessly curious about how people experience the world, and that curiosity continues to shape both my research and my storytelling.
